A Little About Xbox360…

XBOX360 is probably the most developed console on the market for indie game distribution. Their two marketplaces, Xbox Live Arcade Games (XBLA) and Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG), have both done wonders for games like Super Meat Boy, Braid and I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1

Although the acceptance rate on XBLIG is a lot higher compared to XBLA, sales just aren’t the same. Only a few games have been successful financially on Microsoft’s basic indie games channel. The Arcade Game channel, on the other hand, requires more manual work to get accepted and the guidelines are vague. However, the audience is a lot larger and the average perceived game quality is higher.

Microsoft handles each XBLA game case by case and any developer, regardless of their track record, has an opportunity to make it happen.
