A Little About PS3 Games…
Playstation 3 has never been known for their online game distribution. Sony has taken a very different approach to their game consoles when compared to Microsoft.
For starters, the Playstation Network (PSN) is free for gamers where XBOX360 has an annual fee. This freemium approach has cost the Playstation Network the number of independent game developers that have ported games to their platform.
From an indie game developers stand point, PSN is not branded or positioned as a platform that indie games can monetize. Very few developers were able to generate significant sales by distributing solely on the Playstation 3. Some developers, like Team Meat and Super Meat Boy, have been adamant about not developing for Sony’s console.
