Semi Secret Software, which wasn’t so secret after the launch of Canabalt, has become one of the best indie iPhone games in the app store today. The goal of Canabalt is to get a running man as far along as possible without having him fall into a ditch or hit a wall. The levels are always randomly generated and are on both rooftops and hallways.

Timing is a big component of Canabalt as players must jump through windows, dodge crumbling buildings and watch out for falling machinery. If not, death becomes immanent. The real unique element of the game is the fact that players cannot control the movement or speed of the running man. The longer the player goes without stumbling the faster he will become.

For a one-button game, Canabalt is a great indie game that has taken home design awards for its simplistic yet addictive gameplay.
